Facing Forward
Facing Forward Support Group members can help because they've all been there. Everyone in our group has either had cancer and is now a survivor, is currently going through cancer, or has a family member that has gone through cancer. Our mission is to help those deal with the pain and uncertainty of cancer and provide resources and encouragement. No reservation is necessary and there is never a cost for attending the events. Our meetings will focus on the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of dealing with cancer. Open Arms Adoption Support Group
Calvary's Open Arms Adoption Ministry offers a support group for those families who have adopted, are in the process of adopting, or those who are involved in foster care. The support group offers special speakers, encouragement, and interaction with other adoptive families. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in Room 153 at the Mid Rivers Campus. Childcare is provided. This thirteen-week support and seminar is conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and looking forward to rebuilding your life. You will become part of a small group of people who are experiencing separation or divorce. By interacting with these people, you will learn there are others who understand what you are feeling and will be able to offer you encouragement. There is a $10 fee for your workbook. This is a thirteen-week special group to help children heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. At our weekly meetings, kids will learn how God's love can strengthen them and help them turn tears to hope and joy. DivorceCare is for children ages 5 to 12.
