2010-2011 Upward Basketball and Cheerleading

Greetings! As another great year of Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is about to start, here are some important dates and pieces of information that you need to know…

1. We will again have grades K-6th for boys and girls and cheerleading will be available for girls grades K-6th. Depending on the league size, we may be able to have the 5th & 6th division play full court format games. We will have a Basketball and Cheerleading Camp on November 13! More details will be given later on the Camp.

2. Registration begins by you completing the registration process one of three ways: use the online registration form, printing the brochure found at www.Upward.org and sending it to Calvary Church with your payment or picking up a brochure at our church office. Please make checks payable to Calvary Church. Our church office is open between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F. We also have brochures available at all three campuses on Sunday Mornings! Cost for Basketball and Cheerleading is $70.00. Remember you can also purchase shorts for basketball and turtlenecks for cheerleading, which have an additional cost of $15.00. The jersey colors this year are maroon & grey! Register before the price jumps an additional $10.00 on October 11. The final day of registration is Tuesday October 19, 2010.

If you use the online registration system, please follow the instructions carefully. You will have to create a user ID if you have not used it since August of last year. If you are not in Calvary Church's internal database, you will need to register your child using the "guest" tab. All online registratnts must print the "upward liability release" at the end of the registration process and turn it in to the church office soon after registering.

3. Every participant is required to attend a skill evaluation / orientation meeting located at Calvary Church's Mid Rivers Campus. The format is focused on specific grades on each day, except for kindergarten and the cheerleaders! Parents with children in multiple divisions may bring them together on any date listed.

• Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades - Monday October 18 between 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Kindergarten, 3rd & 4th grades - Tuesday October 19 between 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Kindergarten, 5th & 6th grades - Saturday October 16 between 9:00 am – 11:00 am
• Cheerleaders can come on any of the days listed for orientation.

4. Practice will begin during the week of December 6 at various locations around the county. Games will be played on Saturdays starting January 8th and ending February 26 at Dubray Middle School in St. Peters. The awards celebration will be held Monday March 7th.
