2010 Short Term Missions Trips
Please pray these teams would:
- Demonstrate God’s love in very real ways to one another and to those to whom they minister.
- Grow in their love for Christ through this mission experience
- Surrender themselves completely to the needs of the ministry and work in harmony with one another.
- Have God’s protection in their travels
- Be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks them to give the reason for the hope they have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15)
Honduras
Calvary Church is sending 3 teams to Talanga, Honduras to work at Project Manuelito, a children’s ministry started by Pastor Jorge Pinto and the Amor y Vida church (affiliated with World Gospel Mission). The ministry offers hope to children living on the streets of Honduras who have been orphaned, abandoned or abused by their parents. Project Manuelito provides a Christian foundation, an education, a structured living environment and a future for the kids who are re-introduced as productive members of Honduran society. Calvary teams have gone for the last 6 years to help with dormitory construction and other work projects. Two teams were sent to Talanga in March. Another team, led by Bill and Anita Ross, will be going from August 28 to September 5. Teams form quickly and space is limited. An informational meeting is planned for Sunday, March 28, at 12:30pm at the Mid Rivers Mall campus. If you are interested please call Heidi Wilkosz, at 636.939.4343. ext 1110.
